I'm a poor university student, so I am so glad that swap-for-sleep is an option!! Would one set of magnetic poetry (eg. words such as... MODS ARE AWESOME) be enough for a weeks rent?

Oooh, I like the sound of those!  We can work out the details privately in your agreement.  We realize not everyone will be able to offer something as amazing as what you have offered (and that is okay!).

Thanks for showing interest!

I will probably have to start divorce proceedings soon to make the October deadline, but I am there!!!  I am not allergic to goats, but of course, I have never slept with one in my room, either...I take it there are no refunds--I can't read the fine print without my bifocals...

Oooh i'm glad you mentioned the fine print! I never remember to read it before I sign up for things!  You are correct - no refunds. Good thing i'm not allergic to goats! Although i've never lived with one...

Oh, I am SO excited about this!  I think our lovely Cooking Moderator, Troublet, should oversee the kitchens! (And I'd be happy to lend her a hand, of course.)

And $7000 a year is a STEAL.  Goodbye, condo, hello, Nebraska!

Is there a place for pets?  I've got two rabbits and my mom has a dog.  The dog has been known to herd things, so if we have Craftster sheep (as part of what I hope will be a shearing to spinning to crocheting/knitting yearlong class), she can earn her keep.  As for the rabbits, well, they'll help out with fertilizing the garden.

$7000 a year? I'm sold! Um... do you offer daycare for children? As I couldn't possibly leave my son at home by himself all day, but I couldn't really take him to all the fun classes either because with him being a two year old (almost three) he can be quite disruptive... that and I don't want him doing better than me in the classes

That is an excellent question TC! My 3 y/o definitely needs an on-site daycare, or equivalent. I'm glad you brought that up before I moved!

WOW! This is HUGE!  Shocked

What an enormous undertaking, but an incredible idea. Hope you all post loads of updates and pictures.

From what type of areas are you guys moving from? Have you ever lived on a farm type setting? I grew up on a farm and it is the best living environment for families. Miss living with horses, cows, ducks, goats and lots of land.

I'm moving down from Toronto.  I can't see how farm living will be that much different from city living.  Same number of letters= same thing!
