Class: Cosmo, Paper, Scissors

Teacher: rackycoo

Location: Craftster Compound, Room 319

Class Size: 24 Students

Class Description: Come join this class combining my two greatest loves: paper crafting and Cosmos! Participants will learn how to mix up tasty Cosmopolitan martinis, and will then spend the rest of the class enjoying bottomless Cosmos while using sharp scissors and exacto knives to create beautiful and inspired altered Altoid Tins.

Craftster moderator kittykill enjoying the first "Cosmo, Paper, Scissors" class, held in 2009.
(Please note that due to past issues, drink umbrellas and straws will no longer be allowed!)

Cost: $150 per person for the class, plus extra cash for tips for our bartenders, Joel and Ryan. Class fee cost covers most medical expenses due to injuries, but please bring proof of insurance just in case.

Age Requirement You must be over 21 with valid I.D. to participate

What to Bring:
  • Large quantity of ephemera and scrap (at least 10 lbs. worth). We will be trading, so bring enough for you and enough to trade! Raid your stash and bring along any of the "mess" your spouse has been nagging you to dispose of. Bring the good stuff, though. No crap or trash, please.
  • Several sponge brushes
  • The largest size container of Mod Podge you can find (Matte finish)
  • A few tins of Altoids or similar mints. We will alter the tin, and you may wish to use the mints to freshen your breath at the close of class.
  • Standard PaperCrafter's Kit*
  • Festive martini glass
  • A lime
  • Not required, but suggested: eye protection

*Every Standard Kit should contain the following:
  • A flexible ruler
  • A straight edge
  • 12 inch portable paper trimmer with sharpened blade
  • Sharp Scissors: regular, deckle, and specialty cuts suggested
  • Exacto Knife with extra blades
  • Rotary Cutter, also with extra blades
  • That needle-like pokey thing for punching holes, I forget the technical term
  • Bandaids (large box)
  • Adhesives: Tacky Glue, Mod Podge (large size, your choice of finish), Glue Sticks (10-12), E6000 (3 tubes)
  • Some sort of solvent for removing adhesives from skin
  • Large tube of Neosporin or similar antiseptic

So come on and join us! Whether you're an old hat or a newcomer at altering tins, by the end of the day (and the Cosmo's!), we'll all be on equal playing ground. You're going to love this class, and your altered tins, and Joel and Ryan

I like the idea of Cosmos but I'm not such a great paper crafter. Can I still signup?

Like.

Do I contact you to enroll?  Is there a deposit or can I do a personal swap with you in lieu of paying the fees?
