There are a lot of tutorials out there that are basically the same process, just with varying styles of 6 petal flowers. If you search for something like Tim Holtz Grungepaper Roses, you should find something.

There is also this video. Disclaimer - I haven't watched it all the way thru but the first couple of minutes are headed in the right direction.
