I'm only on my first swap but put together a "Swaps - things i like" board which provides ideas as to my tastes. I'll either add to this or make a new board for another swap depending on the theme and whether there's any crossover. Once they have my pinterest they can always look at my other boards to see what sort of things I like. I also have two "Things I have made" boards split by sewing and paper

I tried to label mine clearly. I have one called ideas for swap partners, things to make in 2012, awesome diy projects, and fabrics I love. Sometimes it's hard to convey the types of fabrics you like through a questionnaire, so the fabric board comes in handy! Smiley

I have 15 boards ( Shocked ) on my Pinterest, some of which are only relevant for me (Craft ideas for me, Christmas present ideas, dorm room ideas, food to make, and (store-bought) things I want, etc.).

The rest are all mostly craft-related. I usually have a board relevant to whatever swap I'm currently in, labelled with the name of that swap so my partner can find it easily. Then I break everything down my what type of craft it is- crochet, sewing, embroidery, etc. I also have a board for general inspiration, usually things like color schemes and fabrics.

I'm also working on putting together a board of everything I've ever received in a swap, so my partners a) know what I already have (especially if it's my second or third time in that swap) and b) they get a better idea of how others have interpreted my likes/dislikes.

I try to make sure I put in my questionare what boards they can find ideas pertaining to this swap. Like I just did a Futurama swap, so I put in my questionare the link to my pinterest and "all futurama related things are on the  "nerd stuff" board." That way they can go straight there for ideas or just look around at the rest of my stuff for a general idea of my style.

The other thing I always make sure I do when I'm pinning, is to put in the description specific things I like or dislike about item. For example say I'm pinning a purse I'll put "love this style, would prefer it in another color and with a bow instead of a flower" that way I can pin stuff that I like certain elements of and not worry about someone seeing it and making it with the parts I don't like, if that makes sense. It also sometimes helps me to remember why I pinned something in the first place so I'm not like "what on earth was I thinking when I pinned that hidious dress" and then delete it only to later remember that I pinned it because I liked how they did the straps on it and now its gone and I can't find it again.

I just read this the other day and then spent the last two mornings adding boards for my "Made" and "Received" swap items. What a great idea! I started a "Craftster Likes" board, too, but haven't pinned much on it. I hope everyone reads this post and does something similar, it would make it a lot easier to stalk people!!! I labeled each pin with the name of the swap and the year, and it was kind of fun looking back at them. Thanks again for the idea!
