I did this "altered" box for lauralynn125 for the Amelie Swap and was kinda proud of how it turned out!

Her favorite scene was the blind man being led to the metro station so I decided to back stitch the dialogue onto muslin. The embroidery itself took about 3 days on and off. I free-handed the words with a water soluble pen and used an Amelie-ish green DMC floss. I'm not sure of the actual number as I used it from my stash. Label long gone!

Then I decoupaged that onto the tin top (over fabric I had already decoupaged on). glued some buttons on the parts I didn't like on the side, then stuck a picture of the illuminated blind man on the underside of the top.

I had a lot of fun doing this and now am not scared of 1 strand embroidery! I'm Growing!
Thanks for checking it out

Pretty letters! Love the texture made by decoupaging the embroidery.

This is extremely adorable, you captured the movie's feeling and colors in that little piece of loveliness =) I really like it.
