...introducing my first poppet Suki and her pet-dragon Baba (just finished yesterday). I never made a poppet before and I am happy how this experiment turned out. Its incredible how much personality these poppets develop and how fast.... I think theres a little diva inside her.
She was a gift to my boyfriend and he also gave her her name.

Thank you Ghilie for posting the pattern and getting me started (http://ghilie.wordpress.com/tutorials/#comment-169 ) and thank you to AlwaysInspired and craftewoman for the tutorials ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=336044.0  and http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=249055.0 )

Ready for some more pics?

and her pet-dragon Baba - I experimented with making my own pattern and he looks a little funky, but... :

Hope you enjoy looking!

As requested by IsikkahJai, here is the pattern for the dragon:
( print out as A4 and please send me a picture if you make one)

Lovely!  They look really well constructed, and the details really make this project sing.
The hair, feathers, shoes with ribbons....wow.  Pretty good first try!

Wow, you've made a great job! The doll is really cute, with all the details and the shoes (oh, the shoes XD)
And I also like the dragon very much, its looks are kind of owlish. It's so lovely, I want one!
Your boyfriend must be very happy with this present, this rocks!

Thank you so much for commenting, I'm really glad you like them and the shoes. =)

My boyfriend has placed this on place 2 of his top-ten-gifts, even if it's not very manly, so I guess he's pretty happy.

She's beautiful! I love how you styled her hair - are those feathers? Her tiny shoes look so perfect, and her costume is just fabulous! Did you make your own patterns for the outfit? The cut of the jacket is really pretty.

I agree with Ghilie, her eyes are haunting. Very beautiful work!

Oh, I'm so happy you like her.  Grin Yay!
Yes, the pattern for the clothes and shoes I made myself. Since I  ( or better, she) decided against a dress, I needed something that swings... And I added some feathers within the hair to make it bouncier and give it the exact shape I wanted. The eyes didn't quite turn out as I wanted, but I hope the extralong lashes make up for that.
I love the way one is able to give these little poppets things one uses oneself.. if that makes any sense=)

Splendid job, especially for a first poppet!  Funny how we all love her eyes despite the fact they didn't turn out as you planned.  Poppets have a funny way of doing as they wish. Wink

Yay for summer!
