I'm a little giddy because this my first project post Shocked Grin

My dd's school holds an annual Spring Carnival and each class auctions off themed baskets to help raise money for the PTA.  As room-mom for her class I chose the theme "Knitting for Knewbies and Know-it-alls".  I made a Sanibel-esque work bag (totally lifted from dellastella's fab fancy flea market bag, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=332817.0) and needle roll as part of the basket and here it is...

It measures 18 x 5.5 x 11 inches and has pockets on ALL sides...

Needle slots in the three front pockets, and even more pockets on the inside.

The needle roll/fold and the closure on the front.  Yes, all those lovely 13" bamboo needles were part of the basket Smiley

and just cause I think they're purrdy, the stitch markers I made to match Wink

It was a fun project and I like it so much that I've already started cutting to make one for me Cheesy

That's a great raffle prize. If I liked pink I'd ask where to send my $ for a ticket. Cheesy

I think it'll raise tons. Amazing job. Cheesy

Wow. I don't really fancy pink either, but I still want to buy a ticket. Great job!

Gorgeous prize - you'll have to tell us how popular it was.  Not a pink fan either, but I feel a bit lusty towards it too - love how many pockets it has, and the matching stitch markers!

Strange, I'm not normally a fan of pink or prints either, but this is fabulous.  Smiley What a superb basket/bag. The placement of the flower on the clasp is a perfect finishing touch.

Your child doesn't go to Taylor, does she?  My son is in 2nd grade there.  We have a spring carnival coming up, and I was thinking about making something for it . . . might have to do that now!

Great bag, by the way!

Thanks for all the love Cheesy

Our carnival was yesterday so you're good to go Padester Wink  I don't know how much it went for yet.  I was busy face painting all day and was so tired I left without checking how the silent auction went, will update soon.

Love this and thanks for the link to dellastella's bag as well. I'm getting married in June and hoping to make some great bags for my bridesmaids - this is officially in the running! I have a few Amy Butler patterns that I'm considering - yours turned out beautifully and I love the customized knitting idea. I think I'll customize the bags I make for each of my girls.

Thanks for sharing!
