I just finished these tote bags for my boys teachers for a "First Day of School" gift. I found a great free tutorial that was super easy! I was so happy with how these turned out, I want to keep them  Grin

You can find the tutorial here: http://www.bijoulovelydesigns.com/2010/05/market-tote-tutorial.html

As a teacher, I know personally of the well-intentioned but entirely crappy gifts parents thoughtfully give. These bags are the exact opposite of that! I'm sure they will be very much appreciated, and your child's teacher is definitely going to be looking forward to Christmas!

They both look great, and I love the matching notebooks! =D
I'm confused though... the totes only have one handle? or is the second one hidden?

LOL - Irlized it looked like it had one handle after I uploaded the pic Smiley

It has two handles - the front ones just happened to fall inside of the bag Smiley

This looks really nice! And simple for a last minute gift for someone you never know what to buy. I must admit...I'm wondering where you got the tutorial Smiley

Thanks!  That's awesome.  I will have to add this to the list of ideas for cool gifts - the bag and matching notebook thing is really cool!
