Goodwill Only Auction Site

It may not have everything your local thrift shop would have, but Goodwill does have an online auction site. The only 'people' allowed to list are Goodwill stores, so you know that a listing really for charity, if you are worried about it.

I thought it looked promising as a source for interesting possible 'recraftables'.

One piece of advice for you if you want to use the site. The shipping costs are insane. I bought something for $10, ended up paying an additional $30 for shipping. Make sure to check the shipping costs when you bid on an item. Especially since you can't take back your bid!

If you can find cheap shipping it's great and either way it might end up cheaper. Just make sure it is.

yeah, the shipping was an ugly surprise our first time around too. I've noticed they sometimes offer pick up. I suppose it's possible to get lucky and find what you want close enough to drive over and get it.

I like the site but wonder if in the future it's gonna cause all the good stuff to disappear out of Goodwill stores if it gets popular.

I've been using shopgoodwill forever and a day now. I have gotten sooooo much awesome stuff (right now I'm bidding on 3 normally expensive bikes in my area and winning). They do have crazy shipping rates but that's because they cant set up a business account with the shippers and make it one flat rate. I just got a giant box of craft stuff and I paid almost the same amount of shipping as what I bid for the darn things!
