Labyrinth - UPDATED with a 2nd labyrinth embroidery

This is actually my first post on craftster. Quite exciting since I have been lurking for years. Recently I have been making the above labyrinth. Im a bit obsessed with ancient art and pagan imagery, and am trying to include this in my artwork now. I embroider by hand and this took quite a few hours sitting in front of Jonathan Creek on DVD to get done. It was drawn onto the fabric (an old bit of cord cushion cover about an 8 inch square) with chalk and then I couched a piece of string into the shape (first piccy). Then the really time consuming bit, I then continued to couch the whole piece in green embroidery floss until the shape was covered(second piccy). Im not sure the piece is totally finished but for now, this is it. Im kinda proud of it.

UPDATE;
Instead of starting a new thread for the other Labyrinth embroidery that I did in 2010 I thought I would just add it to this one. Its quite small at 5 inches across and is done in split stitch and back stitch. Its appliqued onto another piece of fabric, which is very pretty, but I need to redo it, the applique that is. Its a bit.... well, it needs re-doing. Its says ' I walk my own path' because at the time I made it I was going through a tough time and was envious of other peoples lives going smoother. I went to a beautiful house in the country in Suffolk (where I live) and they had a turf labyrinth that people could walk. I walked it and the way it made you walk in and out, seemingly further away from your goal and then getting closer, was very meditative and spoke to me about the way life works. So I made this to remind me.

I love labyrinths and I have quite a few on my wists, but I have never seen a stitched one.  I love this!  I have rocked and wisted and favourited.  Top job.

Thankyou thankyou! I shall have to post my other embroidered labyrinth, I did one ages ago which wasnt quite as long a job as this one but is still pretty. I shall do that this afternoon.
