Made with merino wool, wet felted over a balloon. I hope something will move into it this spring!

That's so neat. Will it resist water? Will it drain if it gets wet inside? Did you put a hole in the bottom for drainage in case it does resist water and does collect some inside? I am very curious about this wool pod bird house, very curious indeed!

I was surprised at how well it repelled water actually!
When I dumped water over the top it just ran off...and when I filled it with water through the hole it held the water with just a small dripping coming out the bottom...so it did need some holes for drainage put in the bottom. I think that's because I really felted it a lot and  fulled it quite a bit so it would shrink up and get thicker walls.

That's so frikken cool. I've been wanting to try wet felting with a balloon form and I've got a bit of roving stashed. Now I don't know whether to make a bowl or a pod birdhouse. I love this freaky thing so much though...

Thanks!  Cheesy  The bird house took  less than 2 ounces of wool, so maybe you have enough roving to do both!  A bowl might be an easier thing to start with....but the pod is easy enough too.
