We saw Ripper Owens in a small venu when he was fronting Judas Priest.  He did a good job, and had the lungs.  But he did not have the same stage presence and drama as Halford.  We are listening to the video of him doing Children of the Sea now, from your link, and DH is thinking he is doing a pretty good job of Dio.  Could be good.  Maybe we will see it if they do a Canadian tour.  What is this about Whitesnake touring now?  We saw Whitesnake with Scorpions when they were doing an anniversary tour a couple of years ago, and it was a great concert.

Want to see Priest again too.  Halford does an amazing live show.  But it is starting to hurt him to do the sustained high notes - I would almost swear he is giving himself a hernia in front of us.

Oh yes, DH wanted to make sure that I added that while he may look like he is busting out a hernia, he STILL manages to pull off those long high notes.  It just looks like he is hurting, to me, that's all Cheesy

Whitesnake are great live, seen them a couple of times too, they're in the UK in June I think... don't know which other countries they're going to on the tour though... lots of fun :-) we like Doug Aldrich *mmm*

Clearly the man gives his all! Grin I remember seeing Alice Cooper and thinking that he was going to die on stage by the end of the gig... thankfully, he didn't, and he nailed every song.

And thank you for the welcome message Cheesy

I feel kinda bad for saying this but I don't really like older metal, I can appreciate it but I don't really like it. Example I will listen to a Iron Maiden song if it comes on the radio but you would not find them on my iPod, or in my CD/record collection.  I think the band I like that's been around the longest is Tarot but that's because Marco Hietala's voice makes me melt Smiley

In crafty news some one donated a bunch of old guitar strings, picks, and drum sticks to the Church Charity shop I volunteer at, I picked them up they might prove useful in this swap...

I may definitely be joining this! I was thinking not too many of my fave artists fell under "metal" but I've always been terrible with trying to label my tunes. That wiki article helped out and apperently more fall under that heading than I thought! Plus, sendouts are after the schoolyear, so I should absolutely have plenty of crafting time!
