How cute is that dress!

You inspire me to go through my wardrobe and try to reconstruct some of the clothes I never wear...
Who doesn't have a few items you wish would look better, would fit better or you even wonder why you ever bought it in the first place  Wink !

I would have never imagined the before. Where did you decide the changed in shape? Was it while looking at it or more figuring it out as you go?

I've had this dress for literally about 4 years and I've nearly rethrifted it a ton of times because I just couldn't work out what it wanted to be in it's new life  Tongue but the length of it really just dictated the shape, once you cut the unwanted length off sometimes you end up with a completely different shape. Then just playing around with the best part of the dress which to me was the central stripes, they just weren't enough of a feature before the button loops and buttons were added. You know you're on to a winner when you can't remember how it looked in its before state  Grin

Thank you again though for all your lovely comments, I'm blushing.

I love this! The print seems much more at home in this new incarnation--it seemed a bit to feminine for that blocky seventies thing. You did a great job with the flutter sleeve too!

Soooo cute! I love how you took this dress from conservative old school blah to adorable and trendy Smiley The length you have it at is perfect and the sleeve ruffles are adorable.

and I forgot to add how amazing those buttons are! Buttons are always cute, but kicked it up a notch by choosing buttons that fit in with the pattern of the fabric (the white circles.)
