Ever wonder how to make your ceiling prettier without actually having to paint it?
Here´s how: you take a huge piece of paper in a shape that matches the room, leave a hole in the middle for the wiring for lamps, doodle on it and then stick it in the middle of ceiling with double-sided tape! =)

Here is an example:

and this is how the one in my hallway looks:

Thank you for looking and let me see, if you make one yourself! =)

OMG! Doodle on it?? You say to doodle on it?? Oh no, this is not doodling. And, what about that lampshade? I love it.

Thank you! It makes me really happy, that you like it.
As to the lampshade, here is a close-up picture:

AND the instructions for the lamp, of course:

5 minute fix for an old lampshade
take: 1 chrotched curtain ( left over from some experiments I did with crotcheting), several yards of ribbon, 1 decorational black ribbon with tassels or something like that, 1 old lampshade
put them together
Voilá! New lampshade =)

Wow, if my "doodling" ever looked like that I'd be extremely impressed with myself.  Your design is fabulous and the lampshade is great too. I love the idea of using the paper on the ceiling. I am certainly having thoughts now about trying a circular variation to go above my living room light.

Thank you, sprat605 and tentbruiser!
I seroiusly vote you make one -  it's oddly rewarding when you can lean back on your chair and look at a pretty ceiling Grin Please post a pic if and when you make one, I'd be really interested to see what you come up with.

Great lampshade

but....I do need more sleep when I read that as "crotchety" (ie- grumpy older people) and trying to figure out how mad you must have been at that curtain to cut it up.....

nap time for me!

Happy nap time for you!  Grin But I can tell you, that curtain definitely had some attitude-issues, before it underwent a lampshade-therapy...
