So I was cleaning my desk at work today and found this old tape dispenser (seriously I think it is older than me). It is missing the piece inside that actually holds the tape, so we were going to throw it away. I could not bring myself to do it. It is going home with me. It is weighted, making it nice and heavy. I was thinking it could make a fun doorstop for my screen door, but I want to make it cuter/more fun. Any ideas or other suggestions that could shed light on its potential? Thanks!

kinda has the shape of a lounge chair. maybe affix some sort of doll to it so it looks like they are lounging in the sun and paint it fun beachy colours. would make a cute doorstop for a sun room or porch for sure!

You can actually buy the center inserts to hold the tape quite cheaply. You could decoupage it to make it more fun.

You could cover it with a papier-mache design and make a cell phone cradle.

Ah, straight away that you mentioned doorstop I thought: elf slipper doorstop. The shape would be perfect!

I would say this. Drill a hole through it and thread your charger through.

I was thinking a big wave and a surfer guy positioned on it.

Why mess with a good thing? I agree that it would be fun to just get the cheap plastic insert and make the outside super cute.

I don't know how this would look or how easy it would be, but I see it painted and put some paper flowers in the tape part?  I haven't thought it out fully but I think that would look cute and fun!  Or I saw a tutorial online a while ago where a woman used it for her ribbon...
