I have the weekender pattern and I am going to make me one first to work out the kinks and get familiar with it.

I also recently found out that my cousin is newly engaged.  I was thinking this would make a great shower gift for her.  Then I took it one step farther....how about his and her's matching set (for their honeymoon??).  My question is:  Is this bag too girly for a guy?  I know the fabric choice would be key in making this masculine...  do you think a guy would like this bag?  Use this bag?  Fabric pattern reccomendations??

At 1st I thought you could, just use masculine fabric (solid colors) & change the bag shape, but I think if you find a more squarish bag about the same size, you can tie in the colors & make it his & hers. The AB bag shape is kinda feminine.

yeah I was kinda thinking that too.  I just remembered a have a large gym bag type that my son used for wrestling season that had finally fallen apart.  I really liked the shape/size of the bag so I kept it to make a pattern from it.  I think I can use that for the "his" bag.
