So, with my recent obsession with Doctor Who, it just seemed appropriate that he keep me company. While cruising the internet, I found lots and lots of Doctor Dolls, and had to make one myself.
Alas, I have no sewing machine and had no access to a fabric store. So I went in the attic, sacrified a stuffed monkey, skirt, sheet, sweater, and one of my dad's ties to make the 10th Doctor with nothing but a sewing box, needles, and time.
I painted his eyes, mouth, and converse. His hair was the monkey's fur, but it was red, and as we all know, The Doctor is "rude and not ginger." So, I took some elmers glue and hairdye, made a paste, and painted it on to his head to get the right color and signature "swoopy" look of David Tennant's hair.
Since I did all the sewing by hand, I had NO patience to do all the hems, so I used no-fringe...which left it looking crusty. And while painting his hair, some dye dripped on his head and made the smudge. But whatevs, you do what you can.
He also had his amazing glasses, but they were lost when he took a visit to my friend's house and rode in her car for several days, buckled up in the front seat.
My internet is being a tool today, and I could only upload one pic. I'll be loading more detail shots when its working properly.
