I'm first! My partner made me this wonderful fuzzy gerbil. It is so cute. The journal you so in the pictures are my gerbil journal. I keep track of stuff I do with the gerbils to keep a record.

I felted in white then felted a thin layer of "yellow" over it.

Seriously if you can use a pin cushion you can needle felt. I just started a couple months ago. And I am having a lot of fun.
