I actually really like the home dec suede for poppet making. It's more expensive, but you get the softness of microsuede and the durability of some of the less expensive suedes. It's actually really easy to work with and worth the price (especially if you can find it in remnants or on clearance!).

You ladies are being so helpful! Thanks for all the tips. I'll admit it, I am terribly intimidated by the poppet process, but I know I, and any other beginner, can get through it with your support, so thanks! I'll check out the suedes for sure.

Hi all, well I'm in, just sent my questionnaire in. I have been wanting to do this poppet ever since I saw her on Craftster. I've never made one, but I have made other dolls, Ragedy Ann & Andy, Cabbage Patch & life size dolls, so I think I'll be ok especially with all you ladies help. This will be fun!!!! I so love to make Dolls!!   Cheesy

Question: The other 2 points that are being crafted are to be poppet related right?

believe so. i'd imagine they're clothes or accessory related. Smiley

Prettyrustyrobot is correct - poppet related! But, don't let that stop you at just typical poppet items (what's a typical poppet item? lol). I have masquerade on the mind, so I'll use that as an example. If you make your partner a masquerade themed poppet, an accessory can be a fancy masquerade mask for your partner to wear that matches her doll. Does that help?

*sigh* I caved and sent in my questionnaire ^^ I can't resist the temptation of owning a poppet of my own. I need to get better at making clothes though. I suck pretty bad at making boy poppet clothes T-T Pants are the bane of my existence.... Undecided
