I recently splurged with my tax return and bought a Nook. Probably not the best use of my money, as I still prefer the heft of a real book in my hand, but I couldn't resist!
However, carrying it around my purse unprotected isn't working out very well (I have some minor scratches on my screen already. Not good!!), and I am SO not paying $30 for a cover! However, I had some awesome fabric laying around, and looked a few covers other people had made, so I shimmied together one of my own.
Inside, with Nook in place.
Outside. Not sure if I really like it plain like this. I think I have to pull out my fabric paints...
Flat. Fits perfectly!
The best part is: this was super easy! I had a very dilapidated hardcover that I've been cutting apart for various other projects (I won't say what so I don't hear calls of blasphemy,
), so I used the cover as an inside base. Then I covered the inside with some denim that I had stashed from a pair of worn-out jeans to make it a little softer. There is also a piece on the front cover as well, because the fabric was kind of thin. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
It's not very even, because I just used a hot-glue gun, but it's functional. I don't think I've ever made anything completely straight... ::sigh:: Still, not bad for about an hour's worth of work.

Got antsy, and decided to go with a Percy Jackson theme on the cover. I can't draw to save my life, but I think my little owls are cute. They would have been better if I had finer tipped sharpies...
