What are good pointers on getting started as a body scrub business on etsy?

For products, I'd go with scents that have therapeutic qualities to them. A lavender sugar scrub sounds lovely to me right now <3

A professional appearance is always key especially for bath and beauty products.  Everything should be clean from your packaging to your photos.  It doesn't have to be expensive.  There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to take excellent photos at home with natural light and a white backdrop.  Same goes for packaging.  A mason jar can be dressed up with ribbon and a tag to look country cute or it can end up looking like a dusty jar of hill billy moonshine.

Here's the list of the top 100 sellers (2009) http://www.craftcountblog.com/2009/04/etsy-top-200-sellers-handmade.html - there are lots of bath and body shops are there. Check out their stores and do what they do. Also, google them and find out where they're promoting or otherwise popping up on the web.
