I got so excited when they announced that we were having a cake auction at our church. I immediately went online and was highly inspired by this cake: http://cococakecupcakes.blogspot.com/2009/04/where-wild-things-are-cake.html that I had to make one of my own!
This is my version, though I do admit to copying the first one a lot, but only because it is awesome!



I took photos of it literally as soon as I put down the icing bag, so please excuse the mess! I did clean it up before it was auctioned off!



Side view to show how high it was. I used 2 x 20" chocolate cakes (more specifically, 'Dana's chocolate cake' from Destitute Gourmet) and put delicious dark chocolate ganache between the layers. mmm...

I had a lot of fun making this, and am looking forward to the next opportunity to make something similar. Smiley
