Is it a portable TV or a console (cabinet) model?  If you're very handy you could turn a portable (which I'm using here to mean anything not in a cabinet) into a fish tank; I've seen them but never looked closely at how they were made.  How about a mini puppet theatre, or the housing for a diorama?

A cabinet type can be gutted and turned into storage units (when I was a kid people were turning them into liquor cabinets!)---it's pretty easy to add some shelves, or even drawers with a little more effort and expense.  Some of the old cabinets had nice doors on the front, but you could always add doors...or a curtain...or maybe a little shade....  Hmm, I'm starting to think maybe I should try to do something with my landlady's console TV currently gathering dust in the garage---she told me I could throw it out....

I saw a movie once where the woman turned a TV into a planter. Sweet November, I think...?

taking apart TVs is VERY DANGEROUS.

please don't try it yourself. take it to someone who knows what to do.

i always thought it would be cool if it had a flat top to get some glass and put it on the top for a quick and easy end table!  Wink
