Good Afternoon,
I have a beautiful cast iron patio set. One chair, one chaise lounge, and a 3 cushion sofa. I need to replace the covers and was looking for an inexpensive fabric and some ideas where I may find some. I'm a super-novice when it comes to sewing, but I think I can come up with a simplified pattern for myself.  I plan on using the same foam I already have, that is why I want to do it super cheap.
Thanks in advance for you help.

I'm looking for tips on the exact same thing! My outdoor wooden swings were hand-made, therefore nothing seems to fit them (not to mention outdoor cushions are expensive and the local selection is pretty blah).

I was thinking about using either outdoor table cloths or shower curtains (not the plastic inner liner but the outer fabric kind). I just don't know how they'd hold up.

ETA: Found this: It doesn't have a pattern, but has some helpful tips! It also mentions using table cloths or shower curtains, so it seems they could work! http://www.ehow.com/how_5570469_make-own-outdoor-pillows.html

I work at a Hancock fabrics so all I know is what we have there.  We carry a variety of outdoor fabrics that are soil/stain resistant as well as fade resistant.  They are usually in the range of $15.00/yd, but they are half off right now.  There are also a lot of mark downs right now for our spring cleaning sale, some as low as $2.00 a yd.  Just go to your nearest fabric store and ask what they have for outdoor fabric.  Any decent sales associate should be able to help you.
