While cleaning my room, I discovered that I had this old trunk sitting around. My dad and I made it together over a decade ago to house a doll, but I haven't used it in years. My dad died in 2004, so anything I can do to remember the brief time we had together is very welcomed - so I decided to revamp our chest! (Sorry for the phone pics - my digital camera didn't agree with rock climbing)

Before: A tired old pink.

After: Boho-style awesomeness! All it took was some fabric and a spray-on adhesive (which was a new venture for me; I highly recommend it).
I re-used the original brass hardware. The trunk is 21" long, for reference.

Detail shot of fabric:

I haven't decided what to use it for yet, but it'll definitely be a lovely addition to my sparse college apartment.

That's lovely, and a nice way to remember your dad. The fabric you used is gorgeous!

Very cool, I love it. And your dad is smiling I am sure.

After my dad died and my daughter was born, I gave the dollhouse he made me a makeover for her. It felt really good to do in honor of him. And now she has something really special from the grandpa she never knew.

Very beautifully done. Lovely fabric, good tribute to your father.
