So I got home and the owl towels went right on the stove and other ones by my kitchen sink! Wearing the necklace today (which this image, I don't know if you know but, inspired my arm tattoo  Cheesy) Hubby loved everything too!! Going to hang the hanging owls above the stove until we get our cabinets up there! I will share action shots with you when its not dark when I get home from work and when our kitchen isn't a mess  Wink

My package from Kiwi got here!

Everything all nice and wrapped up:

Coffee Cozy (already in my work bag) and a washcloth:

Two awesome necklaces* (*As described by the note..and they totally are):

Another necklace sitting on top of some fabric. This necklace is so gorgeous with little flowers woven in..and that fabric makes me happy happy happy:

And last, another extra. It was hard for me to get a picture of this one..but it's got a dragon carved into the surface. And little holes so I can string it on something. It's sitting on my desk right under my computer until I figure out what I wanna do with it:

Thank you so so much Kiwi! I now want a million more handmade washclothes. It's such a great idea. Everything is wonderful.

Like the necklaces and the dragon thing.
Anyone needing a tip on small item photos - two approaches:

(for very small items)
1) in addition to using the flower (macro) setting, also go to full wide angle. You will have to get very close and need decent light (ideally daylight) so you don't have to use a flash (turn it off).

(for not-quite-as-small items, or when you don't have any good light)
2) go to full zoom (optical zoom only, no-digital zoom), and turn the flash on (you won't need much external light here, and you'll want to be at least 2ft from object to let the flash even out a little).

For either, holding the button down partway for around 3 seconds before pressing it all the way (so it can get a decent focus) helps too.

i received such an awesome package!!  she hit it right on with things from my wist that i really wanted-neck lushes in great colors for me and embroidered fish that are hanging on the wall already, a gorgeous handmade gardening journal to fill with good things from the garden we plant with the kids (seriously, the pictures don't begin to do this justice - it is even more beautiful in real life!), and monster pillows for all three of my kids that they adore.  she happened to make them in the boys' favorite colors so there wasn't even any fighting over who got which one...and candy - yum!

thank you so much!!

disclaimer: don't mind the self portraits, it has been a long day  Wink
and i'm not sure why i'm having trouble getting all my pictures up, but i will post more of the inside of the journal as soon as i figure it out.
