Today was a really crap day. My passenger side window was smashed due to some not-very-cool vandals and I am NOT happy about that. Of course, I kinda found the fragments of my window to actually be quite pretty.

The artist in me is weird some times.

Here's my dillema. The window cracked like this: http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2662467863_213029cf45.jpg
Some of the pieces hold together fairly well in large hunks, but it's still a step away from shattering into tinier pieces. I don't have a kiln so I can't just melt the things back together. Any suggestions?

MOSAIC!

In the mosaic world it is called tempered glass mosaic, and it is quite coveted. Here are couple of mine that have tg.

The tg makes amazing mosaics!

Yes! That's the kind of thing I want to do. I have the glass and it's perfectly broken. How to I make it not break further? I have the pieces. I just don't know how to make them stick to things or keep together. :<

There really is no way to keep it from breaking more. The thing with tg is it has a mind all its own. You just have to work with the pieces you have, and maybe try to make the smaller pieces kind of fit together.
