I made this handbag at the weekend, I have been wanting to use the fabric for ages.  It is about 30cm high and has 3 pockets inside for my wallet, sunnies and coin purse.  I wanted to use a magnetic snap to close it with a decorative button, but I couldn't wait for the shop to open on monday so it has a functional button to close.  it probably best tho, as my 2 year old can't work the button hole just yet so it slows her down a little.  Thanks for looking.

Ditto! Why have I never thought to do this before? And the button looks great, really suits the whole thing.

I love it! was this pattern hard to make?

No, it was easy.  I just drew an oval the size I wanted the bottom of the bag, then measured the rest of the pieces to go around it.  For the pockets I just used a piece wider than the lining, and put a small hem on it for the elastic.  the elastic was about 3/4 the length of the width (if that makes sense).  Then I sewed it on into 3 pockets.

Thanks for your comments.

That fabric is beautiful and I love the shape .....I definitely need to try this. Also, I second (third? Grin) the elastic pocket praise. What a clever idea.  Great job!
