My friend Mimi wanted this awesome piece of art here:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/62632144/retro-abstract-tree-painting-art-print

I thought I could do something similar with the help of my Cricut and my daughter Lana.  I am horrible with colors and Lana is fantastic with color so it was a perfect project to do together.  Plus I just got this machine and was itching for a project to work on.  So we gathered flower and leaf shapes from several cartridges and set out to work.

This is what we ended up with after several days of cutting, glueing, and waiting for the pieces to dry.  The paper flowers and leaves were glued onto the canvas that we had previously painted a background and tree on.

We had tons of fun making this and are thinking of making another soon!

Thanks for looking!!  C & C appreciated. Smiley

That looks amazing. It is so cool that your daughter helped you out. Kind of wish I had a Cricut machine now.

meleriffic, thanks!!  It was fun crafting together!  Cricuts are nice, but I think you can make the paper flowers even without it.

Calabaza, thanks!  Smiley  I love being wisted...this is my second time!  Smiley

SimplyFabulous!  Yes, make one!  It's fun!  Thanks for the kind words!  Smiley

Cutsey Gnome, thanks it was fun to make.

imera, thanks!  Making it together was the best part.  It's fun to see Lana developing as a craftster!  Smiley

moncherie43, you are too sweet.  We were lucky to have a great example to work from.  Smiley

Thanks for all the great comments everyone.  Now we're even more excited to try another!  Smiley

This is already hanging in my living room!!
The time and love you and Lana put into it is amazing, I am so appreciative.  The birds are so adorable and I love all the different flowers and layering details.

It is way better than the original and the background color is just striking.  Strangely enough, I have another picture framed in the same color so it has a perfect home and mate Smiley

Aw, you're too sweet Mimi.  It was our pleasure.  We really had so much fun putting it together for you.  Smiley  Lana was so proud of it when it was finished.  It was cute watching her!  Smiley  I'm so glad it has found a happy home with you. Smiley
