After making bunch of mug rugs I thought "what else can I make?". And I came up with these, Candle mats. They are 6x6" and are made to use under the large yankee candle jar, although any large candle jar will work.  I used a jellyroll and matching fat quarter pack that I got at A.C. Moore.
I messed up the first one (candle mat 1 in the pictures). I forgot to use the 1/2 seam allowance when I cut my strips and backing. So it is a little small, I also used the sewing machine to sew the binding down in the back so my corners are a little messed up in the back.
The second one (candle mat 2 in the pictures) came out much better, and I handsewed the binding down in the back which looks much better.
What do you think??

Thank you, I can't wait to make more. I'm redoing my craft room so everything is packed up.
