Hi everyone, just wanted to show you my latest blanket. It's the first time I've really made something this big without someone in mind to give it to.

I've been wanting to make a blanket with a more subtle colour scheme as I always seem to go mad with colours. My mum had loads of yarn in shades of blue that she'd bought for something that never got made and said I could use it, so I just got some cream yarn to go with it and sketched out a plan.

It's about 70 inches square. I used the willow pattern from the 200 crochet blocks book and then just did quite a simple edging. Each square took about 30 minutes to make and there are 100 all together. I took yarn to work and managed to make 1 each lunch break if I ate really fast. I think I started it in January.

I really wanted to do the edging with the grey/blue but didn't have any left so I had to use cream which gives more of a contrast than I wanted. I think It looks okay though. Just have to think of something to do with it now.

Let me know what you think,

Alice  Wink

I love it!
This is a colour scheme I would use for myself (would I ever start such a large crochet project).
