I made my first ever cupcakes from scratch for D&D on Sunday. Smiley  I'm very proud of myself, haha (even with the odd frosting job- but sprinkles make it allllllllll better).  Maybe I'll give up the boxed mixes for good now!
This is the recipe I used- http://www.allthingscupcake.com/2007/12/05/mountain-dew-cupcakes/  They turned out super delicious (all 24 of them!), but a bit too lemony to really taste like Dew.  Next time I'll add a little less lemon and put in some orange, see how that goes.  A couple commenters on the original recipe suggested that, and it makes sense to me.

Here's what they looked like unfrosted...

After they were already in the oven I was sad that I didn't think to add dye to the batter too, oh well.

These look and sound so delicious!!  And, oh yes...sprinkles make ANYTHING better!! Great idea to add the food coloring next time.
