I am preparing a new costume for the local Ren Faire and realized that although I'll be fully decked out in farthingales and corsets and whatnot, I'll also likely ride the giant swing... Which means I aught to have some kind of bloomer-like things on. Does anyone know what was historically accurate for the period? Or at least what I can get away with?

Ladies didn't actually wear underpants in that era, but I think a simple pair of pantalettes or leggings would work fine for all but the extremely historically accurate types who would want to look up your skirts!   Cheesy

Here's research to back up wearing bloomer type coverings. Just say you're Italian!
