Why is a raven like a writing desk?

I had an Unbirthday (birthday) Tea Party this weekend and I made a mini top hat for everyone that was attending the week before Grin They're about 4in tall and were all made like their larger counterparts (buckram, wire, mulled and lined) and attached to headbands for the shorter haired girls (one of them has a Miyavi style haircut shaved sides and all) and one with combs. They were all made according to their favorite colors and the yellow one was made to go with a pikachu gijinka cosplay the owner is going to be donning for a convention in about 2 weeks...apologies for some of the mess in the pics they were taken while I was still setting up the table XD

thanks for looking ^_^

Very cute! I just received some mini top hats in the last round of the Hello Kitty swap and I am looking for a reason to wear them out! I love your checkered and purple satin ones the mostest!

Thank you ^_^ as for a tutorial..hrm..I'm not very good at them..and the pattern was one i just drew up on the inside of a cheerios box lol Um..hmm you can find most of it online that's how I learned http://vintagesewing.info/category.html#millinery has free online books on millinery, I can't seem to find anything at the moment that will help you with the shape of the middle part to give it a flair... it's kind of like a rainbow shape but not as extreme..i hope that makes sense..

Thank you ^_^ Well according to the now owner of the purple hat, she wore it the store this morning just because lol So I would say if you like it and it's your style don't wait for a reason, wear it just because you can Wink I'm quite fond of the checkered one myself and am thinking about making one like it for me, I almost didn't want to let that one go XD

How did you shape the hats? Cardboard, or something better?

I feel the need for lots of ridiculous little hats, because I live in hipster central and want to be cool.
