I made this for Troublet for the February Bday swap, since she's a Spanish teacher. This is my first ever embroidery!

It's Peggy Hill from the show King of the Hill. She's a substitute Spanish teacher, and her Spanish is terrible! She doesn't particularly understand it or pronounce it even remotely correctly. That's why I spelled out the phrase En Espanol por favor the way she says it phonetically. She even pronounces "favor" the way you would say "can you do me a favor?" I really loved doing it. I think embroidery is going to be my new favorite craft!

this is awesome ! i am a huge koh fan. i have been dabbling in embroidery lately as well. how do u get such a full area (say her hair for example) ? what kind of stitch do u use for filler? i am great at outlines but have yet to figure out the *colouring* in a section u seem to have mastered!

I actually did it kind of backwards. I did the backstitch outline first, and then did satin stitch for her hair and shirt, and a tiny bit on her lips and glasses. Satin stitch is what you use for those big colored areas, lilfighter00. I just used the online tuts at Sublime Stitching, I think, to figure out how to do the satin stitch, and to give me a refresher on backstitch.

This is a compliment I normally reserve for Peggy's brown betty, but that is just handsome.
