Oh, you just never know when a good stash of yarn will show up.  I don't go thrift shopping as much(littler home, less space!)  I do go to a favorite spot when I'm visiting my sister in Chicagoland.  A Salvation Army store there as some great yarns and their prices are very good.  I've gotten two whole skeins of Fisherman's wool, natural color, for $1.50, even though the Hobby Lobby price sticker was on each for $9.99!! =]

I'm working on my second-to-last row of Hibiscus/Snowflake squares!!  The end is in site!

Great squares/motifs BennuBird...very nice colors.  =]

That is my favorite wool yarn that can be found locally! You lucky gal!!

*blush* Oh yes, yes...crochet. I've set my hook aside until I get my partners for the Ga Ga for Granny Squares swap. I am super, super excited to crank out a ton of granny squares.

Has anyone ever done the join-as-you-go method for assembling their granny square afghans? I loathe seaming.

I am using it for the granny hex I post and I love it so far. I am with you on the seaming.

I'm a crochet seamer kinda gal...=]  I've tried the join as you go w/hexies...felt like I'd had too many jello shots...erm, couldn't get anything to work correctly!!  Grin  No control w/hands, stitches were wonky, and when I got to a point w/two motifs were being joined...that was it!!
I'd crochet my seams anyday!  I work the blanketly-blank ends in as I go.  Tongue

I've posted in another thread and would love any and all input, pls!!

What do you mean you crochet your seams? Like you slip stitch your squares together?

Kittymom, I like the first pic the best. I think adding the extra center is too much. Smiley HTH

Hmmm...I think I like it just w/ the cream/natural center w/ the purple flower outer...if that makes sense? LOL I'm doped up on pain meds & muscle relaxers right now (threw my back out  Cry).
