Also, my trick to making random patchwork is just to be sure no fabrics touch each other on any side that shouldn't (i.e., the same basic color) then just keep building out.  It works better if you don't have a real plan imo.

hey whoopdeeogo!  nice to hear from you.  Do you still use the turtle quilt? Smiley

It is not really cold enough for quilts in Texas.  That does not stop me from making them. I also use thin 100% cotton batting and I display them on a quilt rack on my wall (and gift them).
