MARCH GRANNY-A-DAY

This is basically a motivation crochetalong. If you want to work on a granny square, motif, one huge granny square blanket, this is a great way to set aside time everyday to get some serious work completed in an attainable amount of time.

People have come up with some really neat uses for grannys too! Different bags and blankets, shopping sack holder, slippers, scarves, a nifty pullover etc. I have made 7" grannys and after a month I have 30 squares that make a perfect size throw blanket.

If you are intrested and would like to join we would love to see your work! Post pics of progress and then at the end of the month post a pic of al that you accomplished! It would be great if everyone could post progress weekly (but not required). At the end of the month we can piece together our work and show off our afghans and Inga bags and whatever else you can come up with to make with nifty grannies! (Must post a completed project or progress pic in this thread.)

I would love to go along with this! I've been trying to finish my mom's throw blanket (with a foot pocket) for almost a year now! I keep getting distracted though... Each granny square uses one entire skein of yarn, so the squares are really big. So far I have 4 squares of 10... I hope I can finish it before her birthday this November!

I like the idea of posting pics and getting some motivation going in March!  I've gotten a few more squares done on the Snowflake design in white and hot pink...pics will be added soon!  Happy Stitchin' ya'all! =]

I'm excited about the March Granny-A-Day...I WILL finish my Dad's king sized interlocked granny square afghan this month! As a matter of fact I'm going to go get it and work on it right now....

i'm in once again... hoping to get a few more rows done on dakota's blanket. only got 6 more rows to do to have it completed. that's a total of 66 squares to get done.... at least i should be able to post pictures this month

I'm in! Do swatches count?  So far in trying to master a pattern I have 7 complete disasters on my hand, but hope to play catchup this weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress.

Nice attitude zippecar...=]  You do end up w/original pieces when attempting something new!  You keep at it and will have good results yet!

Here is the progress on my newest project-snowflake pattern:

First row, first five put together(I've since added three squares) and my first two 'wonky' squares are in the middle.  I'm using one size hook for the white square and a smaller one for the pink outside edge and joining.

I got over half a skein added to my blanket today, in between cleaning house and fighting off a monster headache. Spring has sprung in West Texas, which means gusty winds and blowing dust. But I'll finally get this silly blanket done before this month is over!
