This is something I made recently for a swap partner.  She likes octopi, I like to make these nice zippered pouches--it was a match made in heaven!  It was, however, the first time I had appliqued something on the pouch, and although I think the wool felt octopus came out GREAT, I had a hard time transferring the design I drew onto the felt.  Felt is too thick to place over the design and trace it, so I cut out a paper template and traced around it with a ballpoint pen (worked much better than the pencil I tried first).  It worked, but was very tedious.  Does anyone have an easy way to transfer a design onto felt?  I would love to hear how you do it!

That is super cute!  As far as an easier way to transfer, I use wonderunder.  If you iron it onto the felt, you can draw right onto the wonderunder, and cut it out.  It makes appliques loads easier.  It doesn't work for everything, but I use it right much.

The other advantage then is that you can iron it onto your project so it stays in place when you stitch around it  Wink

I second the use of wonder-under! I do a lot of appliques and heat-bonding them first makes them SO much easier to stitch around, and you can draw your design on the back first, and it's super easy to cut out, and no pen lines on your applique.  Smiley

Super cute pouch!
