This is a Sick Sad World tote for my Daria Morgendorffer costume.

Sick Sad World Tote by crafty_goldfish, on Flickr
She doesn't normally carry a bag, but I needed something to hold all my crap when I'm at a convention and a pleated skirt doesn't provide much opportunity for pockets. So I decided to pretend she got a fan-giveaway tote from her favorite television program, Sick Sad World.

It was originally white denim from my stash. It's been dyed, sprayed, stenciled and painted. I plunged it into the dyebath after I stenciled it, that's why the paint is so crumbly looking.
It's based on the Jordy tote, but I cut the corners too deep, so it's more narrow than I intended on the bottom. The strap is twisted, but it is the perfect length. All the seams are machine sewn and serged.

There is an inside zipper pouch to keep all the really important things safe, like keys and money, that was made from a teeshirt and a thrift store zipper. I included an "If found, please contact" tag.
