Bought these today from a thrift store instead of going to Joann's.  Paid .49 to 1.99 {got the black purse for half price 7.99= 4.00}.  I am making the fat quarter purse right now because I found the handles.  I hope my partner wants one.  OOOOHH I sent my entry!!

This is for you imafundork!!

I wish I could join, but can't right now, so I'll be stalking your gallery, can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Penny: Oh, wow! A girl scientist!
Leslie Winkle: Yup. Come for the breasts. Stay for the brains.

sent my q'aire.  I am glad this works out to be after the hoopla swap is about over.  Now, to hold off buying fat quarters until I have a partner.......I'm not sure I can wait Grin

Off to start wisting!

Sent my info off this morning!  This should be a fun and easy swap.

I am off to Joanns after work with coupons, wish list, and flyer in hand.

Does it have to be an offical fat quarter or can we use the equivalent of a fat quarter of fabric?

The standard quarter of a yard is a 9" x 42" strip (approximate length). But a more usable piece of fabric of the same total size is 18" x 21" (approximately).

If you cut a half-yard length of fabric (18" x 42") into two pieces along the narrow dimension (18") instead of along the 42" length, you end up with two quarter-yard pieces, each 18" x 21". Those are called "fat quarters" to distinguish them from the less useful 9" x 42" quarter yards.

oooh this looks like so much fun. and a bit of challenge to go with it. i am limiting myself to one swap at a time and since I just finished one, I will be considering this one.

I think I'm going to join this swap...but just so I know what I'm getting into before I officially sign up, does anyone happen to know, offhand, what FQ's usually cost at JoAnn?
