Does anyone else do loom beading?  I have been working on a loom for over a year now and was just wondering how others finish theirs.

I actually gave up loom beading because finishing it off was such a pain. Now if I want to to do a loomed pattern I use square stitch.

i used to loom bead, to finish i'd tie the outermost left thread to the next one in, outer most right to the next one in
then 2nd thread to 3rd, left and right etc.
then plait the threats together
i'm curious to learn about the mysterious square stitch though

Loom beading takes a lot of time unless you have hands on experience with it for a good time. It was quite time consuming for me so I opted for other options.

I just want to jump in here and offer some good vibes for beading on a loom! I do, solely. I am also finalizing a book about this method of bead weaving which I hope will change the minds of other bead weavers who have steered clear of it.

Just to include further info, other than visiting my blog or website, I also have a group on FB, A Bead Looming Intervention. Since I started it, we have many new loomers in the bead world. They tell me all the time how they love the technique and so glad there are new updated ways to manage the warps. I offer classes and patterns, mainly getting things heated up for when the book hits the shelves.

Please know, there are some exciting new things happening with this form of bead weaving. Don't get rid of your looms, just yet!  Grin
