i made this from three colors of acrylic with a size G hook.  it's single crochet, a granny-square inspired middle, and more single crochet.  very simple, but i'll work out a pattern if anyone's dying for it.

Very cute.  Smiley  If you don't have time for a whole tutorial, can you give just a basic idea of how to do the brim?  I'm assuming that you used tight sc's to avoid floppiness...
