Cool, I never even thought of trying the rectangular ones, I may have to try those aswell. 
I will have to dig around and see if I have any clear nail polish.  Maybe try that. Even ones with shimmer in them might be nice aswell, aslong as they aren't a solid colour, unless you just want to cover the entire bead with a solid, you could do that aswell.

Beware, they use a lot of varnish! I made a first set, will post pics soon. I applied 3 coats of varnish to get them semi-glassy. I don't wear varnish, so i had to buy a new one just for the beads Cheesy We don't get mod podge here Sad
