I knit therefore I am...

I'm just about to start a project with some recycled sari silk.  For some reason or another, I feel cautious about using this yarn.  Is there anything special I should know about knitting with sari silk?  Does it tear easily?

.... I've got first-time jitters!

Thanks,
Tara

It can be very thin in places....very very thin. Just watch out for those thread like strands! Its hard to keep a consistant gauge with it as well, and I've heard some of the yarns have junk like twigs still in it (mine was twig free).
