I just tried this for the first time and it was so much fun! The ink pad thing is so brilliant...such a small touch that makes such a lovely big difference. Thanks so much for posting this!

Beautiful!!  I have sooo many of those tins- LOVE to alter them.  (I was very disappointed when they decided to make the tins dimensional....  Tongue

Thanks so much for the tute- even tho I've made many, it's nice to read someone else's tricks- sometimes thats where I've messed up in the past!

Yeah the dimensional ones stink but I think they're still usable. Maybe 'Altoids' can be covered with some kind of dimensional embellishment.. I'll have to play around and see.

There have been a lot of discussion and great ideas given for dealing with the embossed tins on the Wicked Circus Altered Altoid Tins Swap thread!  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=374624.0

Thanks for the tute, rackycoo - lots of great tips. I will try one this weekend.

And Trader Joe's has flat mint tins - Sugarfree mints called "Myntz". Also, at the Container Store (and sometimes in the Dollar Store), you can buy plain, brushed metal tins. I don't know if they're hinged.

And I have a zillion* tins, just PM me if you want/need some.

*Well, not a zillion but 50+ and I buy/eat these mints so I have a steady supply available.
