Depending on what you sew into it, you can use it for whatever you want.  You could make a beaded curtain-style curtain with it.  You could tie it around gifts for extra decoration.

i am having two thoughts.
one, this is AWESOME and i'm totally going to have to do it for around-the-apartment decoration.
two, this totally reminds me of all that novelty yarn that's around these days - using different fabric (or that!) you could make your own for less then $7 a skein... again, i'm on it.

Exactly!  You could very easily use this stuff to make your own novelty yarn (or you could make some and spin it in with some wool or whatever -- not that I've ever done that, but I am sure it could be done).
