I'm fairly new to embroidery and still kind of experimenting with different stitches and making different things happen. After seeing that amazing tentacle stumpwork by Jemimah I decided to try my hand at some 3-D stitching. I decided that if anything deserved to be in 3-D, it was Gene Simmons tongue (another plus was that his makeup design is pretty simple)

EDIT: I thought the world needed a fun-sized Gene, too

The makeup is just silk stitching and the tongue is felt stuffed with batting, then felted a bit to make it a little more solid and then covered in floss.

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
