I started these so many months ago and completed them a few weeks ago, but life happened and I never got around to taking pics. But now I have!
This is Sherlock Holmes and John Watson from the BBC adaptation of Sherlock Holmes; "Sherlock". I am a tad obsessed with this show - as my previous plushies will attest.
Sherlock is 19.5 inches tall They're made using the pattern I made for my Psych plushies. I modified it to give them posable fingers and tweaked some other bits, but overall they're pretty similar.
I sometimes think I am too overly concerned with details.
I normally use faux fur for plushie hair, but for Sherlock's style it just wasn't working. I ended up buying a Kemper doll wig and modifying it to fit.
And now, Doctor John Watson who is 17.5" tall! The inset is Martin Freeman, who portrays Dr. Watson in Sherlock, and the outfit I copied. I wanted to give him his signature cable-knit sweater but I'm only just learning to knit and it was a little out of my reach so I went with the back up plan.
And because John didn't have an epic wardrobe like Sherlock, I gave him props!
The iPhone is from the unaired pilot episode, it's 2inches tall and hand sewn.. I had a little trouble with it and it didn't turn out quite as neat as I'd have liked, but I think it's cute.
And the jumper next to him.. I found at a craft store. It was for a build-a-bear thing, but I couldn't resist. What more could a doctor who has a penchant for jumpers want than a medical themed jumper? It's very snuggly looking. His hair turned out a lovely shade of bright yellow in the photos. I'm sure it's not that bright in real life. My camera doesn't always want to play nice with me.
