My partner received today, so I can finally share the poppet I made for the Doctor Who round 5 swap.  Grin

I saw her in my garden...at first I thought she was a statue, but then I blinked...and she moved!

I used ghillie's wonderful poppet pattern, with a few modifications.  She's made from grey Alova suede and her dress is a "stone" look fabric that was a lucky find (I was looking for a different fabric and found this tucked in the back of the fabric store).

Trying to get her hair to look like the Angels' was probably the hardest part--I went through lots of trial and error and cutting and fiddling trying to get it to look right.  But in the end, I'm proud of how it turned out.  Her wings are quilted to give texture and shape.  Fitting her dress over the wings was another interesting experience...

It was a lot of fun making her and I'm very proud of how she turned out.  I just hope she behaves herself in her new home...  Grin

I love this so much!  The grey tones match perfectly and you can tell right away its a weeping angel which I think always makes a characterisation of a poppet a success Smiley well done!

Oh, my! She's scary cute! Awesome job on the wings, too - they look absolutely perfect.

Wonderful! You did a great job - she looks like a poppet and she looks like a Weeping Angel, and it works perfectly.
